While some are advocating to cancel the Jones Library renovation and expansion project, the Trustees remain convinced that the project is the right option to meet the needs of Amherst's residents.
In this opinion post, Trustees President Austin Sarat and Jones Library Director Sharon Sharry write that a repair-only option is the wrong choice and instead describe a vision for the library that is bigger than bricks, carpeting, and landscaping, and is about the "hearth and soul" of the community.
